Event Description:
Each year, the Midland Chamber of Commerce honors outstanding educators and school support staff from our local schools. Every local campus is invited to nominate an outstanding classroom teacher & an “Unsung Hero” - a non-classroom staff member whose efforts enhance  the quality of education on their campus. A panel of judges will review nominations, with all identifying information redacted to ensure an objective decision. The panel selects a winner for each of the following categories:
  • Excellence in Teaching - Elementary Educator
  • Excellence in Teaching - Secondary Educator
  • Unsung Hero
Each winner receives a substantial cash award of $2500!
Plus, each nominee will receive a gift valued at $50.
 
YOU CAN HELP!
 
1. Your charitable donation will cover the costs for teacher awards and reception tickets for that teacher, their guest and their principal.
 
2. We are accepting donations of classroom supplies that will be given to the teachers. There is NO MINIMUM quantity needed. You CAN provide items that display your company logo. Suggested items include:
crayons puzzles glue / glue sticks notebook paper
colored pencils copy paper construction paper scissors
pens flash drives hand sanitizer batteries
pencils kleenex disinfecting wipes ziploc bags
markers card stock 3-ring binders highlighters

These items need to be delivered to the Chamber office (303 W. Wall St., Suite 200) on or before Tuesday, March 21, 2017.
