Come and enjoy a FREE lecture with Chris Vore about his personal collection of Bibles- their histories as well as the history in general of the printed Bible. Before or after the lecture, enjoy viewing seven centuries of Bibles. The oldest Bible that will be on display was published in Venice in 1492 and includes gold leafing. Also included in the collection is a 20” Royal Bible, published for King George II and also owned by a famous Egyptologist, and a Geneva Bible from the 1600’s, which version the pilgrims would have used. Additionally, the display will feature Napoleon Bonaparte’s personal prayer book and a first edition King James Bible.
