Event Description:
Johnson, who directs Lubbock Lake Landmark and the Texas Tech Museum, leads a paleontological excavation near Snyder. The focus is on the early Pleistocene period. A variety of creatures found are distant relatives and are similar to the ones of today. Then there are those, like a giant tortoise, that have no current West Texas equivalent.
