Event Description:
Midland Need to Read (MN2R) will host a Supplies Drive to benefit students enrolled in the Adult Literacy Program Monday, January 9 through Thursday, January 12, 2017. Members of the community are encouraged to donate supplies at the MN2R Literacy House (1709 W. Wall Street, Midland) or at any of the following partnering locations: Natural Grocers, Lacy J Pilates & Fitness Studio, Midland County Public Libraries, Fasken Center – Tower I, or West Texas State Bank. Pick up of supplies can also be arranged by calling 432-682-9693. Supplies needed: 1-subject spiral notebooks Pocket folders with brads Highlighters Notepads (all sizes) Erasers (handheld and pencil top) 8G flash drives Such supplies will aid adult students in achieving their personal literacy goals, like learning English, passing the GED exam, or gaining proficiency in reading, writing, math, or technology. When adults acquire critical literacy skills, they are more likely to pass those skills on to the next generation, encouraging a love of learning that can lead to life-long success, benefiting children and our community.
