Arts Council Of Midland Hosts Premier Art Exhibit
MIDLAND, TEXAS -- On Friday, April 13
th, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m., the Arts Council of Midland will
present the next of its Quarterly Exhibitions series entitled ‘Visions: 2018’ with a reception at 1506 West
Illinois Avenue in Midland, Texas, featuring the masterful works of painter, Bo Tan. The exhibit entitled
‘
Î÷·½ ÒÕ Êõ µÄ ¶« ·½ Ú¹ ÊÍ - An Eastern Interpretation of Western Art’ features many of Tan’s fine oil
paintings from his own personal collection. Mr. Tan will speak at 6:45 p.m., and refreshments will be
served. The reception is free and open to the public.
Bo Tan was born in Dalian, China to a family of medical professionals. Tan received his both graduate
and undergraduate degree of fine arts in oil painting from Lu Xun Academy of Arts. “Ever since I was a
little boy, I have been fascinated with art,” said Bo Tan, painter. “After graduating from the Lu Xun
Academy of Arts, I became a professor for the next fourteen years at the academy. I then moved to the
United States in late 90s to pursue the American Dream,” Tan said.
Tan’s art is featured in many private collections and institutes. His exhibitions include those at The
Louise Hopkins Underwood Center for the Arts in Lubbock, TX, Texas Tech University Museum in
Lubbock, TX and Reflection Gallery in Santa Fe, NM.
