Pass the bookmark, please. One of the most popular restaurants in Midland has joined with the Bookies to offer a unique event to stimulate both the mind and the palate.
Sample fine to go with dinner. Diners may meet members of the Permian Basin Bookies, and every diner receives a copy of West Texas Lore & Legend, the anthology compiled by the Bookies to benefit the Recording Library of West Texas, where volunteers read for the blind and disabled.
7 p.m., June 12 Opal’s Table, downtown Midland, Wall at Colorado Street
Fun. Learn new pairings of food and wine, while recognizing a non-profit “fostering West Texas writers to inspire the world”
Cost: $60 for meal only, $90 meal paired with wine
