Event Description:
The Ellen Noël Art Museum of the Permian Basin is hosting its 34th annual Shrimpfest on Monday, February 24, 2020 at the Ector County Coliseum, Building G. This event serves as the Museum’s largest and most successful fundraiser of the year with over 1,200 people expected to attend. Guests are treated to unlimited Cajun shrimp, Live music by The Rivets Jazz Band Sponsored by Lissa Noël Wagner and opportunities to bid on a variety of unique items. The silent and live auctions include vacations, hunting trips, beauty products and jewelry as well as pieces made by local artists. General Admission tickets are $40 in advance and $45 at the door and include entry to the event, unlimited shrimp, and a drink. As a non-profit organization, ENAM relies on fundraisers like Shrimpfest to help supplement the funding it receives through donations, memberships, and grants. All profits from this event help the Museum to sustain important programs like Art 2 Go for second graders who do not have art in school, Free Community Art Days with activities for all ages, and Fine Arts Connection third grade field trips. It also allows the Museum to bring in important exhibitions like Sacred Scripts which is currently on display, and gives the public access to these exhibitions at no cost. Profits from Shrimpfest also help the Museum to expand, develop, and diversify its programs to better meet the needs of its growing community.
