    Job Summary

    This position will report directly to the Health Services Management (HSM)/Health Information Management (HIM) department chair. This position assists students to obtain information about the degrees and certificates offered in the department. The coordinator assists with marketing programs to the community, coordinates student clinical placement, and completes forms and processes to meet student and program needs. Maintains program database and assists with writing reports.

    Required Qualifications

    Associate’s degree or equivalent (60 college credit hours)

    Two years of Health Information Management, Information Technology, or recruitment/career services or equivalent combination

    Computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and PowerPoint

    Ability to work as a team member in a flexible ever-changing environment

    Strong written and verbal communication, organizational and interpersonal skills

    Ability to effectively prioritize tasks to meet department goals

    Preferred Qualifications

    Bachelor’s degree

    Academic Advising experience

    Information Technology experience in healthcare

    Knowledge of media including video conferencing

    RHIT/RHIA certification

    Experience using a Learning Management System (Blackboard, Canvas)

    Essential Functions

    Compiles data and assists with various program reports

    Performs the initial student advisement and creates the advisement form for students seeking Associate degrees, Bachelor degrees or certificates in Health Information Management

    Researches job markets and employment trends upon request

    Develops and coordinates clinical sites for internships; oversees clinical course placement

    Works cooperatively with the College’s Pathways Advisors and the registrar’s office

    Sends letters of program acceptance to applicants

    Assists graduating students by notifying them of College procedures

    Analyzes transcripts of students or potential students for program admission and advisement purposes, seeking assistance from the department chair, division office or registrar when necessary

    Develops and maintains professional brochures, flyers and handouts for students on career-related information

    Demonstrates knowledge, professional demeanor and computer literacy to manage department responsibilities

    Maintains effective relationships with faculty, students and clinical agencies

    Manages clinical course requirements such as but not limited to, notifying students and maintaining documentation of criminal background checks, urine drug testing, and immunizations

    Reviews and updates online Canvas Health Information Management and Bachelor of Applied Science community pages

    Compiles statistics on internships, students and graduate placement

    Participates in marketing for programs and provides community outreach

    Assists students in their job searches by posting job announcements on Canvas

    Maintains program databases

    Other duties as assigned

    Physical Demands

    Min Salary $3,065.00 per month
    Max Salary $3,218.75 per month
    Pay Statement Salary is commensurate with educational qualifications and experience.
