    Job Summary

    The Director of Physical Plant is responsible for maintenance of all Midland College facilities and grounds in such a manner that promotes and facilitates the college learning and working experience for all students and employees for Midland College.

    Required Qualifications

    Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field; or training and experience equivalency

    Minimum of five years of progressively responsible management experience

    Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    Demonstrated ability in identifying and implementing creative solutions to complex problems

    Thorough knowledge of facilities management, personnel management, human relations and commitment to quality service, staff development, diversity, and safety

    Working knowledge of maintenance software, budget control, and service measurement techniques

    Must possess a valid Texas Driver License, good driving record, and be insurable on Midland College’s insurance policy

    Preferred Qualifications

    Experience with distributed power systems, central plant heating and cooling operations, and plumbing systems.

    Essential Functions

    Responsible for principal planning, budgeting, and management of all existing and proposed Midland College facilities, including new construction, renovation, preventive, corrective, and deferred maintenance, utilities, and the motor pool fleet

    Compliance of Midland College facilities to all City, State, and Federal code requirements

    Serve on various subcommittees including, but not limited to, Physical Plant Environment, Risk Management, American Disabilities Act, and Critical Incident Response Team

    Other duties as assigned

    Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

    Ability to climb ladders and stairs

    Ability to operate motorized equipment

    Use of manual dexterity

    Indoor and outdoor work performed in all kinds of weather
