Kat Hoffman is a senior earth scientist working for Chevron Corporation in Houston, TX. She currently works in the Mid-Continent Business Unit on the Characterize and Define team for the Permian Basin. Prior to this position, Kat worked in the Office of Global Diversity as a secondee to the Catalyst organization where she served as an Advisor to Strategic Programming for the Men Advocating Real Change (MARC) initiative.

Kat joined Chevron in 2008 after graduating from Indiana University with a master’s degree in biogeochemistry. She has worked in the Chevron’s Energy Technology Company, and San Joaquin and Mid-Continent Business Units, in a variety of technical areas including steam flood and CO2/Waterflood asset development, integrated interpretation and modeling, frontier exploration, and technical learning solutions.

In addition to her technical responsibilities, Kat serves on the Women’s Network Executive Committee as an emeritus MARC Director. She is a subject matter expert for the MARC initiative at Chevron, responsible for strategic planning and engaging internal and external leaders to collaborate and share best practices.

Alex Lambros is an execution modeling & optimization engineer working for Chevron Corporation in Houston, TX. He currently works in the Mid-Continent Business Unit on the Unconventional Planning & Optimization team for the Permian Basin. Prior to this position, Alex worked as a production engineer in Midland, TX.

Alex joined Chevron in 2017 after graduating magna cum laude from Texas A&M University with a bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering. She also serves as Co-Pastor of Community Worship Center alongside her husband of fifteen years Edward Mayberry. Together they have two beautiful daughters, Aniyah and Erinn.

In 2013, Lucy moved to Midland and rapidly established herself in the retail, industrial, office, and land markets while remaining active in projects in Mission and McAllen, Texas.

Once voted “Super Mom,” Lucy is committed to her family and is always active with several non-profits and charitable organizations across West Texas.

Dr. Becky Spurlock has served as the Vice President for Student Affairs and Leadership at The University of Texas Permian Basin (UTPB) since August 2019. In her role, she oversees many of the co-curricular programs and services for students including the Shepperd Leadership Institute.

Prior to joining UTPB, she served as the Associate Vice President and Senior Associate Dean of Student Life at the University of the South (colloquially known as Sewanee). Before Sewanee, Dr. Spurlock served in various capacities at Belmont University (Nashville), Trinity University (San Antonio), Texas State University (San Marcos), St. Mary's University (San Antonio), and the University of Texas San Antonio.

As a first-generation college student, she believes in the transformational power of higher education.

An educator, sought after speaker, and leader in the field of Student Affairs, she regularly teaches, speaks, and consults on developing community, leadership, strategic planning, and assessment.

Dr. Spurlock has more than 25 years of experience in Student Affairs. A high-energy speaker, Dr. Spurlock is known for her ability to engage audiences, address difficult topics, and connect through humor.

Trained in narrative analysis and as a qualitative researcher, Dr. Spurlock uses stories to connect, teach, and deepen relationships.

Dr. Spurlock has a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from Texas A&M University as well two degrees from Texas State University, a B.S. in Recreational Administration and an M.Ed in Counseling and Guidance. In 2017, Dr. Spurlock completed the Management and Leadership Education Program Certificate from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.

She has served on the NASPA Board of Directors, is the Past Region III Director, and served two terms on the NASPA Center for Women Board of Directors. Dr. Spurlock was recently appointed as the director for the NASPA Region III/SACSA Mid-Manager’s Institute. She is also the recipient of the John Koldus Award for Outstanding Service to NASPA Region III. NASPA is the leading voice for the Student Affairs Profession worldwide.

In 2013, Lucy moved to Midland and rapidly established herself in the retail, industrial, office, and land markets while remaining active in projects in Mission and McAllen, Texas.

Once voted “Super Mom,” Lucy is committed to her family and is always active with several non-profits and charitable organizations across West Texas.

Lucy’s expertise spans from planning new projects to serving as Leasing & Property Manager at several large properties.

Her real estate experience is broad and varies including investment acquisition/disposition, multifamily, site selection, land development, and buyer/tenant representation for Plaza Sports Center, La Jaiba Shrimp House, Kumori, APEX Carwash, La Hacienda restaurant, and Nails of America to name a few.

Dr. Becky Spurlock has served as the Vice President for Student Affairs and Leadership at The University of Texas Permian Basin (UTPB) since August 2019. In her role, she oversees many of the co-curricular programs and services for students including the Shepperd Leadership Institute.

Prior to joining UTPB, she served as the Associate Vice President and Senior Associate Dean of Student Life at the University of the South (colloquially known as Sewanee). Before Sewanee, Dr. Spurlock served in various capacities at Belmont University (Nashville), Trinity University (San Antonio), Texas State University (San Marcos), St. Mary's University (San Antonio), and the University of Texas San Antonio.

As a first-generation college student, she believes in the transformational power of higher education.

An educator, sought after speaker, and leader in the field of Student Affairs, she regularly teaches, speaks, and consults on developing community, leadership, strategic planning, and assessment.

Dr. Spurlock has more than 25 years of experience in Student Affairs. A high-energy speaker, Dr. Spurlock is known for her ability to engage audiences, address difficult topics, and connect through humor.

Trained in narrative analysis and as a qualitative researcher, Dr. Spurlock uses stories to connect, teach, and deepen relationships.

Dr. Spurlock has a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from Texas A&M University as well two degrees from Texas State University, a B.S. in Recreational Administration and an M.Ed in Counseling and Guidance. In 2017, Dr. Spurlock completed the Management and Leadership Education Program Certificate from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.

She has served on the NASPA Board of Directors, is the Past Region III Director, and served two terms on the NASPA Center for Women Board of Directors. Dr. Spurlock was recently appointed as the director for the NASPA Region III/SACSA Mid-Manager’s Institute. She is also the recipient of the John Koldus Award for Outstanding Service to NASPA Region III. NASPA is the leading voice for the Student Affairs Profession worldwide.
