The John Ben Shepperd Public Leadership Institute announces a visit from HuffPost
Odessa, TX – The John Ben Shepperd Public Leadership Institute (JBSPLI) announces that HuffPost will visit JBS and UTPB on October 25, 2017. This visit is part of HuffPost’s Listening to America tour (September 12th to October 27th, 2017). According to the HuffPost’s website and conversations with the media outlet, the Listening to America tour hopes to discover what’s on Americans’ minds. Themes include but are not limited to Americanism, trust in media, national unity, and for our area, the oil boom-bust cycle. HuffPost has converted a tour bus into a mobile video studio and intends to conduct one-on-one interviews with participants inside the bus. There are currently 23 cities on the national tour:

The tour bus will station itself in the Shepperd Institute’s parking lot for the day. Hours of operation will be from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM. JBS’s intent is to arrange a student session on the UTPB campus. Members of the general public may choose to stage inside the Shepperd Institute and approach the bus in the JBS parking lot for one-on-one interviews throughout the day.
