Event Description:
Join us on Down Syndrome Awareness Day with Texas author/artist Jordan Burk! Jordan has created a series of children's books entitled "Kelly and Kelso" in honor of his uncle Kelly who was born with the condition in 1952. Against all odds, Kelly lived a wonderful, fulfilling life, inspiring those around him and because of Jordan, Kelly’s’ stories of kindness and acceptance live on through this series!
We are so delighted that Jordan will be here to spread awareness on this special day with us!
The book signing will be located in our visitors’ center from 1:00-3:00.
Copies of Kelly and the Great Pinewood Derby will be available for purchase during the event.
Following this event will be our regularly scheduled Third Thursday Reading Event brought to you by our Laura Bush Literacy Program from 4:30 – 5:30 where Jordan will be reading his book and sharing stories about his uncle Kelly.
