Event Description:
Celebrate the women in your life and join United Way of Midland for the 5th annual Power of the Purse! The event will feature shopping with locally owned businesses, 5 rounds of bingo with multiple opportunities to win a designer bag, raffles for two high-end designer bags, dinner and desserts and more!
100% of the net proceeds from Power of the Purse go directly to United Way of Midland's Innovative Grants.
Each year, United Way of Midland opens grant applications to local nonprofits for one-time funding for projects and specific programs that help improve the health, education, or self-sufficiency of Midlanders. Since 2013, United Way of Midland volunteers have granted over $352,492 to help strengthen our community through projects such as refurbishing senior housing with Midland Parker Place, replacing soiled mattresses and a commercial refrigerator at Safe Place of the Permian Basin, and remodeling a room with Basin Dream Center allowing them to double the number of beds available for girls aging out of foster care.
